Our Story

Living a healthy non-toxic lifestyle is what we strive for. We both love the comfort of a candle, but when we started looking into what we were burning from store bought candles it really concerned us. We started doing our own research and sourced one of the cleanest and most sustainable waxes and wood wicks we could find. Our fragrance oils we use for our scents are phthalate-free and safe to burn around everyone including pets. Our goal is to provide safe, non-toxic candles so that everyone can enjoy a scent that brings them comfort and back to a beautiful memory.

Meet the team  

  Gord

    Hi I’m Gord, owner and operator of Cochrane Candle Company. My wife Christine and I run this business together with our baby boy. Everything we make is by our hands. I grew up during my teenage years always coming home at night to my mom having a house lit by candles. There is a sense of safety and security that we want to bring to our customer's homes. I hope to bring unique and interesting scents as I'm interested in scent mixology, which makes sense as I am a former bartender.

 

  Christine

    Hi I’m Christine and Gord is my husband, which makes me his wife and co-owner. We are the duo of Cochrane Candle Company. I’m an elementary teacher by day and candle maker by night and I just took on the new title of ‘Mom’ to our baby boy (might be my favourite title of all).  Finding new scents excites me as certain smells bring me back to special memories or remind me of certain people.
